4-3-2-1 Tuesday Evening League
This is a casual league and there is no need to arrange for spares, if you do not attend you simply don't record a score for that week. This casual league type does allow for those that don't want to commit to weekly attendance. The recording of scores is to allow those that do attend regularly to see how they are doing in the monthly ratings and to also record players achievements. If you don't wish to have your score recorded simply don't hand in your scorecard at the end of the evening.
The 4-3-2-1 format makes this league a fun individual event for members of all abilities. Once all bowlers have bowled, 4 points is awarded for the closest bowl to the jack, 3 points for the second closest, 2 points for the third closest and 1 point for the fourth closest, no other bowls count. Therefore this is a great game to improve drawing skills, and develop ways of maneuvering the jack.
At the beginning of the evening, bowlers will be divided into groups of 3 or 4 by random draw and the group winner will progress to the next group every 4 ends, so you will get to bowl with a variety of other members.
For those that hand in their scorecards, total score is recorded at the end of each Tuesday evening and winners are awarded each month. Further recognition is given for those managing to bowl a perfect end, having all 4 of your bowls count, which is 10 points. Circle every 10 point end on your scorecard. We have set 4-3-2-1 up as a league so league pages can be maintained showing the weekly scores and standings. Prize details and scoring are found on the Member Info tab.
Players are grouped into two categories: Veteran or Novice (<= 5 years experience). Veterans are identified in the standings as Flight/Division A and novices are identified as Flight/Division B. This grouping enhances the fun aspect of the 4-3-2-1 league: Veterans are matched against other veterans and novices are matched against other novices.
Weekly submissions to the prize pot are $1.00. The league starts at 7 PM but be there earlier to get registered for that night.
